ROUTINE INSPECTIONS AND CHECKS FOR AN ENTIRE AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL NETWORK CAN BE CARRIED OUT BY COMPUTER TERMINALS REMOTE FROM THE RADIO SITES.

CAN ALSO PROVIDE CONSTANT WATCH ON BUILDING SYSTEMS SUCH AS INTRUDER AND FIRE MONITOR EQUIPMENT USING OPERATIONAL AND MAINTENANCE DATA FROM CONNECTED EQUIPMENT TO PRESENT INFORMATION IN A CLEAR GRAPHICAL FORMAT TO ENGINEERS AT A REMOTE MAINTENANCE POSITION.

THE EQUIPMENT PROVIDES THE HUMAN-MACHINE INTERFACE TO THE SYSTEM AND CONSISTS OF A COMPUTER INSTALLED WITH SOFTWARE WHICH COMMUNICATES DIRECTLY WITH THE REMOTE SITES.

MULTIPLE UNITS CAN BE INTERCONNECTED TO PROVIDE REDUNDANCY OR FALLBACK COVERAGE WHEN A MAINTENANCE CENTRE IS CLOSED.

REMOTE SITE EQUIPMENT COMPRISES DATA ROUTERS, WHICH COLLATE AND DISTRIBUTE CONTROL AND MONITORING INFORMATION FROM MULTIPLE AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL RADIOS AND ARE LOCATED AT EACH RADIO SITE WITHIN THE NETWORK.

INFORMATION IS RELAYED BACK TO THE MAINTENANCE CONTROL CENTRE VIA A LOW BANDWIDTH DATA LINK.
